Vogue Summer School: Fashion Media is an intensive four-week summer programme designed to introduce you to the role of media within the fashion industry. This course combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills to equip you with a strong grasp of fashion styling, journalism and the role of an editor.
You will delve into the various facets of fashion media, including content creation, media strategy, and visual as well as written storytelling. The course covers the roles of fashion media platforms, explores the latest trends in media consumption, and teaches you how to craft compelling fashion stories that resonate with audiences. Through hands-on tasks, interactive workshops, and industry insights, you’ll learn how to effectively create fashion content across different media channels. As part of the course, you will also complete a team studio and still-life fashion shoots.
The curriculum includes practical workshops, case studies, and guest lectures from industry professionals, including those from Vogue and other Condé Nast brands. You will complete a team project in the form of an editorial proposal for Vogue that you will present at the end of the course. These experiences are aimed at enhancing your media skills and understanding of the fashion industry.
By the end of the programme, you will have developed strong media skills, strategic insights, and practical experience in creating fashion media. Alongside this, you will have created practical examples of work as a way to demonstrate learned skills. This course is ideal for aspiring fashion media professionals such as stylists, journalists and editors, those looking to advance their careers, or anyone with a passion for fashion media.
Structure
The Vogue Summer School is an immersive programme designed around weekly themes that sharpen your focus and enrich your studies. Delivered by experienced industry practitioners and leading academics, the curriculum offers a diverse lineup of lectures that bring valuable industry insights, coupled with hands-on workshops to help you build essential practical skills.
To further enhance your learning experience, the programme incorporates exhibition visits and field trips, transforming London into a dynamic classroom where you’ll explore relevant cultural and industry sites firsthand.
Classes are held on campus from Monday to Thursday, while Fridays are reserved for self-directed study and collaborative group work. On the final Friday, you’ll present your group assignments at the college, culminating the day—and your journey—with the celebratory End of Course Celebration.
Modules
This four-week programme offers a thorough introduction to fashion media. Engage in lectures and workshops to gain insights from industry professionals and apply your knowledge to practical projects.
Week 1: Introduction to Fashion Media
During the first week, we will induct you to the College and introduce the course content and team project that will be completed during the course. Other key topics include:
- Introduction to Vogue
- Understanding audiences
- Fashion media now & next
- Visual communication & digital design skills
Week 2: Creative Practice in Fashion & Styling
The focus is on creative practice in fashion and styling – considering key influences on fashion and identifying the wider macro-environmental trends shaping tastes and consumer behaviour. Other key topics include:
- Trend analysis
- The influence of the street style
- Still-life styling
- Creating mood boards
Week 3: Fashion Storytelling
During week 3, the focus is on learning about fashion journalism and storytelling across print, digital and social media. During this week, students will also learn about the visual language of fashion media. Other key topics include:
- Fashion writing & journalism
- Magazine branding & creating covers
- PR & the media
- Content creation & social media
Week 4: The Business of Fashion Media
The final week will focus on completing and presenting a course assignment as well as working in teams on studio-based shoots, alongside photographers and other creative professionals. Other key topics include:
- Advertising & revenue generation
- The editor & the publisher
- Preparation for the final presentation
- Career opportunities in the fashion industry

Accrediting Body & Award Structure
This programme is accredited and conferred by The University of Buckingham. It is a four-week course at RQF level 4, combining academic theory with practical industry insights and leveraging Vogue’s extensive network.
Credits
The course is worth 15 credits within the UK’s Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) at level 4, equivalent to 7.5 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits.

To secure your place on the course, the tuition fee must be paid in full one month before the start of the course. We offer an option for either one full payment or a payment plan consisting of three equal installments.
Student Loans, Scholarships, & Bursaries
Students studying at Vogue College of Fashion are currently ineligible for student loans.

Admissions
We seek applicants with a passion for fashion, media, and luxury lifestyle industries, ready to make an impact on the future of fashion. This course is open to anyone 18 years of age and older. Enrolment is completed through our website with a book and pay registration process. We offer an option for either one full payment or a payment plan consisting of three equal installments. Payment in full is required 1 month before the start of the course.
