Masters Admissions

MA Degrees (Fashion Media Portfolio)

The following requirements are for the MA degrees:

  • MA Creative Direction for Fashion Media
  • MA Fashion Journalism & Editorial Direction

Academic Entry Requirements

UK applicants should ideally hold an undergraduate degree at a 2.2 classification or above in a related subject. However, applicants with an undergraduate degree in an unrelated subject who can demonstrate a commitment to and an understanding of the course subject are strongly encouraged to apply.

International applicants should hold qualifications equivalent to an international undergraduate degree that is equivalent to a 2.2 classification or above in a related subject. If you have any questions about academic entry qualifications, please contact us at admissions@voguecollege.com.

Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL)

Exceptional candidates who do not meet standard entry requirements may still be considered through APEL. We recognise the value of real-world experience alongside formal education. This can be:

Organised prior-learning where the learning has been assessed and where certificates are awarded on completion

Learning gained through unstructured experiences and short courses, arising through leisure pursuits, family experiences and work

If you’d like to be considered through APEL, please contact us at admissions@voguecollege.com.

English Language Requirements

International applicants are required to demonstrate proficiency at Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) Level B2, such as IELTS Academic for UKVI Level 6.5 or above, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component. Test results certificates must accompany applications.

Age Requirement

You need to be aged 18 on 01 September at the start of the academic year in which your chosen course starts.

Portfolio Guidelines

The following Master’s Programmes require you to submit a portfolio:

  • MA Creative Direction for Fashion Media
  • MA Fashion Journalism & Editorial Direction

Portfolios should include:

  • Two written pieces (800+ words), one on a relevant fashion or media topic.
  • A minimum of two creative pieces (e.g., photography, styling).

Applicants without an existing creative portfolio should create a visual moodboard for a fashion shoot, explaining their creative vision. We also accept web, blog, or video portfolios, provided you include a link in your application. Applicants should submit work that they feel is reflective of their creative vision and future academic and professional goals. This is the place in the application where you should feel free to be as creative as possible.

Personal Statement

Our Fashion Media portfolio of postgraduate programmes also require you to submit a 500-word personal statement as part of your application outlining your interest in the programme, Vogue College of Fashion, and how you envision this course supporting your future career goals.

Application Review

Once the admissions team has received your admissions application and supplemental materials, we will begin reviewing your application.

After we’ve reviewed your application, you may be invited to a 20-30 minute online interview with a member of our faculty. The interview process will also be an opportunity for you to learn more about your intended programme and the Vogue College of Fashion Community.

Following your interview, we will be in touch with an admissions decision within two working days.
