Vogue’s 5 Days of Fashion Journalism course is an immersive programme designed to introduce you to the world of fashion writing, reporting and storytelling. In just one week, you’ll learn the core skills needed to create compelling fashion content across digital and print platforms. Led by experts, this course gives you direct insight into the fast-paced world of fashion media.

Through hands-on workshops and expert-led sessions, you’ll explore key journalistic practices, from interviewing and researching to writing and editing. The course is perfect for aspiring writers, bloggers, content creators or anyone looking to gain experience in fashion journalism.

The programme connects students with industry professionals including those working for Vogue and Condé Nast, providing a unique opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business. After the course, we will ask you to activate your learning by writing a fashion article and an industry professional will give you feedback about this.

The course covers essential aspects of fashion journalism, helping you develop a strong foundation in the field:

Introduction to Fashion Media

Explore the fashion media landscape, including key platforms and formats. Gain an understanding of how fashion media has evolved and its role in shaping the industry.

Writing for Fashion Editorials & Features

Learn how to craft engaging and insightful fashion editorials and features, focusing on storytelling, structure, and presenting fashion topics creatively and informatively.

Writing for Fashion News Articles

Develop the skills to write timely and concise fashion news articles, focusing on reporting industry events, launches, and trends in a fast-paced, engaging style.

Writing About Fashion Trends

Discover how to identify and communicate emerging fashion trends. Learn to research, analyze, and present trends in a way that resonates with readers and industry professionals.

Job Roles in Journalism & the Role of the Editor

Gain insight into the various roles within fashion journalism, including the responsibilities of writers and editors, and learn how editors shape content and maintain a brand’s voice.

Introduction to Fashion PR & Writing for Promotion

Understand the fundamentals of fashion PR and how to craft effective promotional content. Learn the principles of writing press releases and brand communication to support media and marketing strategies.

Structure

The five-day programme provides an introduction to fashion journalism through workshops, writing exercises, and practical experiences.

There will be talks from Condé Nast staff and other fashion media experts on a range of subjects such as understanding your audience, generating features ideas, trend reporting, writing fashion news, and the art of interviewing.

The course will also look at the work of experienced writers and editors, and explore the language of fashion. You will discover how magazines operate, how revenue is generated from media content, and the key characteristics of print and digital formats.

This programme is awarded by Vogue College of Fashion. It is structured as a five-day programme. The programme combines academic rigour and industry engagement with practical and professional skills, drawing on the expertise of Vogue’s wide network of industry professionals.

Credits

The course carries no credits within the UK’s Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

This short programme contains tasks, experiences and opportunities designed to equip you with the introductory skills, knowledge and practice crucial for starting to build a successful career in fashion from personal development to professional practice.

Within the course content, there will be career and professional development elements and activities available to you such as meeting industry professionals, learning about different career journeys and understanding potential careers opportunities.

To secure your place on the course, the tuition fee must be paid in full at the point of booking. Please note, there is no deposit option available for bookings.

Students do not have the option to pay the tuition fee in instalments for this course.

Student Loans, Scholarships, & Bursaries

Students studying at Vogue College of Fashion are currently ineligible for student loans.
